Built on the highest edge of the caldera, at an altitude of 270 metres, West East Suites overlooks the volcano, Thirasia, the village of Oia, the islands of Folegandros, Sikinos, Amorgos, and all of the Aegean, from west to east. Scaros, the dominating rock in front of the village, used to be one of five castle-cities of Santorini during the Middle Ages.
